MARICOPA, Ariz. -

A woman was arrested after two bundles of marijuana and 11 men in the US illegally were found in her SUV.

Pinal County Sheriff's Office says a deputy pulled over a Ford Explorer for traffic violations on SR 347, near Maricopa, on Friday.

At first, the deputy only saw the driver, 29-year-old Janette Salido-Hernandez, a front seat passenger and three other passengers in the back row.

Then the deputy says he saw something moving under a blanket in the cargo area.

Seven men and a bundle of marijuana were allegedly hiding underneath the blanket.

A bundle of marijuana was also found between the front seat passenger's legs.

All 11 passengers admitted to being in the US illegally, but said they didn't know about the marijuana inside the SUV. They were turned over to the US Border Patrol for processing.

Hernandez told detectives she was headed toward Harrah's casino when she saw a man standing on the side of Highway 357, attempting to wave her down.

She stopped and the men allegedly jumped into her SUV and offered her $300 to take them to Phoenix.

Hernandez claimed she usually stops and helps people when they're stranded.

Deputies say she knew what she was doing was wrong, but claimed she didn't know about the marijuana inside the SUV.

The two packages of pot weighed 45.5 pounds with a street value of $34,125.

Deputies also found $759 in cash in her purse.

Hernandez was booked into the Pinal County Jail for possession of marijuana, transportation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale.

She was released from custody by a judge on Monday, but then turned over to US Border Patrol.
