Mother Reunited With Daughter Who Found Her Father Dead

Posted: Updated:
West Philadelphia -

Anna Cassieri and her daughter Aryanna Stanley traded "I love you's" after finally being reunited this weekend, and like Anna's Instagram reunion post says 'It feels so good."

"I'll never ever let her out of my sight again," said Anna.

Three-year-old Aryanna is back to being a kid again, but her mother says her daughter's still haunted by what she saw.

Wednesday the toddler found her 34-year-old father Armone Stanley dead in the stairwell of his West Philly apartment on North 49th St.

Police say he'd been shot 19-times while taking his daughter's luggage downstairs for her trip back home to Florida.

"It broke my heart because my baby saw him lying there my baby tried to wake him up

and was telling me he wasn't sleeping he was dead, he died."

Unable to wake her dad, police say Aryanna hid in the apartment alone for nearly 30-hours.

DHS took the child into custody Thursday as her mom flew in from Florida where she lives. In a statement citing safety of all children in their care, Anna wasn't given custody of her daughter once she flew into Philadelphia

Anna says she was only given ten minutes with her daughter Thursday night and two hours Friday before a custody hearing scheduled for Monday.

"When it was time to leave she was yelling 'I love you why won't you take me with you,' "said a teary eyed Anna.

This weekend a judge finally ordered DHS to release Aryanna to her mother. Anna's thankful she's able to be with her daughter full time again. But still questions DHS' compassion after what she and her daughter have been through.

Anna still has to go through a custody hearing Monday.

DHS issued a statement saying they support the judge's decision. DHS has to take all facts into consideration when it comes to the safety of children that we have in custody.
