MCDONOUGH, Ga. -

A McDonough couple is celebrating an incredible milestone in their marriage.  Ralph and Tillie Lee Pullin are one of the longest-living married couples in Georgia, and it's getting them plenty of unexpected attention.

The Pullins can now boast a proclamation from the mayor, as well as the congratulatory letter from the President of the United States—and a visit from Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken!  Who could ask for more?

Ralph Pullin, Sr. says he'll never forget the day they met in 1936.  He says there was electricity from the start.

"She had to sit on part of my knee!  And that got my attention like-- a live wire," he said.

For two years, they kept their relationship a secret from Tillie Lee's mother, instead telling her Ralph was dating Tillie Lee's older sister.  Finally on September 17, 1938, they were married.  Eleven months later, they became parents.

The Pullins had eight children, and raised them in their McDonough home.  It's still filled with family.

This year—their 75th together—has been special.  Along with news stories and a proclamation from the mayor, they got a special letter of congratulations from President Barack Obama himself.  But the Pullins say they don't deserve the credit.  In fact, they say the one thing that has kept them together all these years is God.

"Our marriage was like the ocean," Ralph explained.  "I'm not trying to say big words, but you know how the ocean waves go up and down?  At the bottom, God was there.  And every time we hit bottom, God pushed us back up."

Along with their eight children, Ralph and Tillie Lee Pullin have 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, with another on the way!
