Car strikes pedestrians at Yonkers church festival

YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) -- At least four people are injured after a car struck pedestrians at a church festival in Yonkers, officials said.

The Yonkers Fire Department said Friday the four were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions weren't immediately known. Officials did not disclose their names or ages.

The accident occurred just after 9 p.m. near Coyne Park in Yonkers, police said.

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Paul the Apostle was holding the second night of an annual fundraiser there, The Journal News reported. A message left at the church was not returned late Friday.

Police are investigating. They could not immediately provide details of the accident.
