Police: Aggressive driving a factor in fatal Gainesville collision

GAINESVILLE, Ga. -

Police say a case of aggressive driving left two people dead after a head-on collision in Gainesville.

According to police, 911 calls reported a pickup truck repeatedly bumped another vehicle from behind before attempting to pass the vehicle on Brown's Bridge Road.

The truck crashed into a Jeep Cherokee SUV going in the opposite direction.

The drivers in the truck and the Jeep were both killed, authorities said. Two passengers in the SUV were injured.

The injured passengers were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities identified the driver of the truck as 48-year-old Michael Carl Williams, of Ringgold, Ga.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as 20-year-old Chelsea Gerrish, of Gainesville, Ga.
