Body of man found floating in Rockaway Inlet

NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD is investigating after discovering the body of a 41-year-old man floating in Rockaway Inlet.

The victim was spotted around 5 p.m. Sunday in the water behind Kingsborough College Marine Center.

Police pulled him out of the water and performed CPR. He was then transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim as Vladislav Cheloudko of Brooklyn.

    The NYPD has arrested and charged a suspect in the shooting of a teenaged bystander as well as another man in Brooklyn. Police on Friday charged Kareem Potomont, 21, with two counts of attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, and reckless endangerment in connection with the shooting that took place near a bus stop on Flatbush Avenue on Monday, April 14.
