PHOENIX (AP) - A federal judge has ordered Arizona to provide more information on the drug it plans to use in two upcoming executions.

Judge Roslyn Silver issued her ruling Friday evening after a hearing where she noted the two convicts had established a First Amendment right to the information.

Silver ordered the drug's manufacturer, lot number and expiration date released by noon Saturday. She said the state hadn't shown why it should keep the information secret when it had disclosed it before previous executions.

In another case filed by one of the inmates set for execution this month, an appeals court ruled against Edward Schad Friday in his claim that his lawyers were ineffective at trial.

Schad is set for execution Wednesday and Robert Glen Jones Jr. on Oct. 23.
