Thousands of cyclists set to 'Tour de Troit' on Saturday

(WJBK) -

Nearly 5,000 people will hop on their bikes and take part in the 12th Annual Tour de Troit in Detroit this weekend.

The 30-mile bike ride on Sept. 21 starts at Roosevelt Park (2200 Michigan Avenue) in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood. Registration will be available on site for $65.

Recently recognized as Michigan's largest bike ride by the League of Michigan Bicyclists, a portion of the proceeds from Tour de Troit go to support Detroit area greenway projects. Since 2005, nearly $160,000 has been raised to support greenway and non-motorized transportation projects.
