LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities activated Nevada's Amber Alert network to find a father accused of abducting his 5-month-old daughter in Yuma, Ariz., and fleeing to southern Nevada.
Yuma police Detective Tammy Kallinger tells The Associated Press that cellphone activity on Wednesday showed 47-year-old Jeffrey Brian Green was somewhere in or around downtown Las Vegas.
According to Sgt. Leanne Worthen, Jeffrey took Aleeha Leilani Green from her mother after an argument about custody issues. Jeffrey doesn't have custodial rights and he has made suicidal comments to family members.
The Amber Alert about 2 p.m. said Green may be armed and driving a lime green 1997 Dodge pickup truck with flame detailing on the front and Arizona license plates.
Green is described as 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds with a mustache, black T-shirt, khaki shorts and khaki boots.
The child, Aleeha Leilani Green, has blonde hair and blue eyes.
She was last seen Wednesday wearing a pink and white "onesie" outfit.
UPDATE: On Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 at about 2:30 pm the Utah Highway Patrol stopped Jeff Green, and he was taken into custody without incident. Aleeha Green was found in the vehicle with him, unharmed. The stop happened at approximately four miles north of the Arizona/Utah state line on Interstate 15.
