It is hard saying a final goodbye to anyone, but it is especially difficult when the loved one is a child. On Monday, friends and family of Rebecca Sedwick attended her funeral -- many wearing lime green shirts, because it was her favorite color.
Investigators say Rebecca was bullied to death, first at school, then on her smart phone.
During Rebecca's funeral service, one woman told parents they have to build up their kids self-confidence by using what she told her kids.
"[God] didn't make another one like you, so that makes you special," she said.
As loved ones are trying to come to grips with their loss, detectives are sifting through hundreds of phone conversations and texts between Rebecca and members of her social circle. Investigators are trying to determine if any of the girls who bullied her can be charged under a new anti-stalking law.
"They shouldn't have done, what they done," said Erica Ledo, one of Rebecca's friends. She, like Rebecca, is 12 years-old.
After the service in Bartow, Rebecca was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland.
