9 dogs seized after man accused of animal neglect

BUCKEYE, Ariz. -

The Maricopa County Sheriff's office investigating an animal neglect case in the far west valley.

The sheriff's animal crimes unit at a Buckeye home after receiving a tip about a man selling labradoodles online, heavily infected with ticks.

A deputy went to the home of 85-year-old John Brown, posing as someone answering the online ad about the dogs for sale.

That's when the deputy noticed Brown's dogs weren't being cared for properly and were infected by hundreds of ticks.

Brown now faces neglect charges. The four adult dogs and five puppies will be cared for by the sheriff's MASH unit until they are well enough to be adopted.
