PD: 2 suspects on loose after shooting man at Phoenix motel

Updated:
PHOENIX -

Police say a man is in critical condition after he was shot at a motel near 51st Avenue and I-10 on Thursday night.

A man reportedly checked in to a Traveler's Inn around 9:30 p.m.

Shortly afterward, Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson says two male suspects knocked on the man's door and went inside.

The men allegedly shot him and then fled the area.

Thompson says the man stumbled to the lobby where he collapsed and was found with a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition; his name hasn't been released.

Thompson says they're trying to figure out if the man knew the suspects and why were they at the motel.

So far, the man hasn't been able to give much information on the men who allegedly attacked him.

Investigators are in the process of determining if there are cameras at the motel and if they captured anything.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.
