NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say 15 people were injured when a New Jersey Transit bus and a van collided head-on in northern New Jersey.

NJ Transit says 17 people were on the 40 Line bus and two people were in the van when the crash occurred in Newark around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. But the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The van's driver was seriously injured, but further details were not disclosed.

Fourteen bus passengers were being treated for minor to moderate injuries, ranging from facial lacerations to chest injuries. But none of those injuries were considered life-threatening.
