Nation Pausing To Remember 9/11 On 12th Anniversary

Today marks the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, considered the worst attack on U.S. soil in history.

Now, 12 years later, the nation continues to remember. We reflect on that day and look ahead at how far we've come, and still have yet to go.

All around the country, people will pause to reflect on those tragic events that took the lives of thousands of people.

Later this morning, ceremonies will mark the anniversary at Ground Zero in New York and in Washington, D.C.

The president, first lady and vice president will attend a memorial service at the Pentagon.

And there will also be a moment of silence at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pa.

Today's anniversary is expected to be the last before the National September 11 Memorial & Museum opens at Ground Zero. That's due to open this spring.

    SkyFOX was live over the scene on the 1500 block of South Etting Street in South Philadelphia around 9:40 p.m. on Friday. Police say four people have been shot. According to authorities, a 3-year-old girl was shot, one time in the left side of her chest. She was transported to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and was pronounced dead.
