Falcons players help feed seniors

Posted: Updated:
GAINESVILLE, Ga. -

The Atlanta Falcons were busy off the field on Tuesday to lend a helping hand to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.

The effort is part of a partnership with UnitedHealthcare's "Do Good. Live Well" program.

Tackling thousands of pounds of food, players worked side by side with volunteers to sort, stuff and package boxes for delivery.

Taking nutritious meals from the food bank to the table, players brought hand-delivered care packages to seniors in Gainesville.

The players said that they're appreciative for the opportunity to give back.

While Tuesday's volunteer efforts were focused in Hall County, the program works to prevent hunger and obesity throughout the Atlanta area.
