1 Dead In Montco Hit-And-Run Crash, Police Say

Posted: Updated:
POTTSTOWN, Pa. -

SkyFOX flew over the scene of a deadly hit-and-run Monday morning in Montgomery County where an elderly woman was struck and killed. Now police say they're looking for a school bus that may have been involved. It happened in Lower Pottsgrove around 730 a.m. at the corner of North Charlotte and Mervine Streets

"I checked the lady and she was gone. Her body was totally smashed. "

It is an image that Sukhjinder Singh will have on his mind for a long time. An elderly woman who frequently walked to his Sunoco for lotto tickets was killed while crossing the street. He tried to help but it was too late.

"I've never seen something like that in my life," Singh said. "I was kind of shocked because there was a lot of blood...I shaked her and she was gone."

The bus that Sofia Wise takes to work drove right past the woman's body.

"I just wanted to know what happened because she's bloody she's laying on the ground and we knew she was dead," Wise said.

Surveillance cameras from the Sunoco are helping the Lower Pottsgrove police identify the vehicle, which is believed to be a bus. But Sulhjinder Singh says there was a decent amount of traffic at the time. He's bothered that only one person stopped to help.

"I'm wondering why nobody stepped up and said something," Singh said. "So sad."

There are no crosswalks here and nothing to help pedestrians. Although there were tons of people crossing here all day. The Montgomery County District Attorney's office says the whole thing is under investigation.
