CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

"She saw the suspect hiding behind some bushes and she adjusted her path. That's when she noticed him behind her," says Canton Police Sgt. Mark Gajeski. "She adjusted her path again and she thought she lost the suspect then she noticed him ahead of her. That's when she immediately ran home and contacted police."

The victim's mother says the man even tried to follow her in his jeep. Sunday's incident was the seventh time something like this has been reported in the last three weeks.

The woman involved believes she's seen this man before. He's described as a white male in his 30s, wearing gray shorts with a blue stripe down the side and a black baseball cap. He was driving a gray Jeep Cherokee with a 4x4 sticker on the back.

Police say women should not jog alone and should carry a cell phone and call 9-1-1 if they encounter someone suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call Canton police at 734-394-5400.
