Wounded soldier gets free pool fence from Phoenix firefighters
GLENDALE, Ariz. -
A wounded solider is receiving a free pool fence from United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association on Thursday.
Sgt. Marcos Otero served two deployments in Iraq and was awarded the Combat Action Badge for his role in multiple hostile exchanges with the enemy.
Marcos was diagnosed with severe post-traumatic stress disorder and has medically retired from the Army.
Otero and his wife, Ashley, have a 1-year-old son and another child on the way. They have a limited income because he only receives money for his service-connected injuries and his wife isn't able to work.
FOX 10's Kristin Anderson talks to Otero as volunteers install the new pool fence.
