Weekend Roundup: Chili & Brewfest, Provisions Market and Western Standard Time

Posted: Updated:

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

Delicious Chili & Brewfest
Sunday, September 1, 11am-6pm
It's gonna be a hot Labor Day weekend and I'm not just talking about the weather! The Delicious Chili & Brewfest at the Queen Mary is your chance to taste-test your way through tons of chili made by 15 competing chefs including 2012 World Open Chili Champion Clark McGee and his "On the Road Chili" team. Along with the red, verde and homestyle cookoff, there will be dozens of local breweries, live entertainment and a kids zone. Tickets start at $10.

Provisions Market

Whether you're grilling this Labor Day weekend or heading to the Orange International Street Fair, Provisions Market will hook you up with the fresh, all-natural grilling meats and sides. Along with more than 600 bottled craft beers, 30 rotating beers on tap and 100+ wines, Provisions is known for gourmet twists on classic deli foods like all-natural burgers and hot dogs, carne asada, grass-fed New York steaks and pink deviled eggs! Call ahead for the Labor Day specials. Orders must be placed by phone or email (orders@provisionsmarkets.com) by 3pm on Friday, August 30.

Western Standard Time
Saturday, August 31, 6pm-9pm
Get ready to dance (and eat) the night away at the annual Flights & Sounds Summer Festival at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine. This FREE family-friendly event is where you can catch a live performance by Western Standard Time, the ultimate big band tribute to seminal Jamaican ska band The Skatalites. Local food trucks start serving at 6pm and the concert starts at 7pm. Bring your blanket, chairs and enjoy an evening under the stars.
