City worker in Yuma accused in a theft case

YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a city worker in Yuma is accused of stealing about $8,300 from two golf courses.

Earlier this month, the Yuma County Attorney's Office authorized a criminal complaint against 34-year-old Erica Cibrian for one count of felony theft.

Yuma police say they began their investigation of the reported theft last month.

They say Cibrian was employed by the Yuma Parks and Recreation Department as an administrative assistant at the time of the alleged offense.

Police say she was responsible for processing deposits for the Arroyo Dunes and Desert Hills Golf Courses.

Investigators say Cibrian allegedly failed to deposit portions of the money and kept it for her personal use.

It was unclear Tuesday if Cibrian has legal representation yet.
