2 shot, 1 dead in violent Fulton Co. double shooting

Posted: Updated:
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Two men are shot – only one of them survived – after witnesses say one car pulled up to another and shot at it along Old National Highway late Sunday night, according to Fulton County police.

FOX 5 Atlanta's Marc Teichner reports the shooting happened in the 5300 block of Old National Highway about 10:50 p.m. Police say the two men had just come out of a local restaurant, gotten into their car and began driving out of the parking lot. Just then, another car pulled up on the two men and opened fire.

Fulton County Det. Melissa Park said, "The parties that were involved were in two different vehicles. One vehicle pulled up next to the other vehicle and opened fire; striking both parties in the single vehicle."

The suspect car fled the scene. Police say one of the victims managed to get out of the car and start heading back toward the restaurant. He made it to a nearby tattoo parlor, where people were able to help him.

They said he was shot in the arm and hand.

The second gunshot victim managed to give Fulton County police some information on the gunman before passing away. The names of the two men who were shot have not been made public.

Police did mention that there were some conflicting witness reports. Some eyewitnesses told police that the two gunshot victims were sitting in a parking lot in their car – and had not gone to the restaurant.

Police say they have good leads on the suspects' vehicle, but did not release details.
