Beau Biden Returns To Area

Posted: Updated:
WILMINGTON, Del. -

Beau Biden returned from having a medical procedure in Texas. Video from a few hours ago showed his father, vice-president Joe Biden, escorting his son to the airport in Texas.

Beau Biden is back home in the first state at this hour, after a medical scare that began last Wednesday when he reported feeling dizzy and disoriented during a family vacation in the Midwest.

The 44 year old Attorney General tweeted a photo before leaving Houston's M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, late morning. In it, a smiling Biden poses with his wife, his father, the vice-president, and second lady Dr. Jill Biden. His message read, "On our way home, can't wait to get back. Thank you, Houston."

Beau Biden left M.D. Anderson in a motorcade after what was described as a "successful procedure" related to what's been reported as a mass in his brain. The junior Biden suffered a mild stroke back in 2010. A spokesman said the Attorney General was not likely to come to his Wilmington office on this first day back, but he did chat with his staff by telephone.

Office workers sent their best wishes.

"My experience with the Attorney General is that he's a good guy, and our prayers are with him certainly," says one office worker.

"The only news we're getting is the same you're giving us," says another. "Everybody hopes he well.

Shortly after 3:00 in the afternoon, Air Force Two touched down at the New Castle County Airport. In an earlier statement, the Vice President said that his son was in great shape and that he will follow up with local physicians in the coming weeks.

So the good news is, Beau Biden is back at home, back in the first state tonight. The exact nature and exact severity of the medical condition is still not known, at least to the public.
