Clermont Hotel rezoning approved

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

The Atlanta City Council has approved rezoning of the Clermont Hotel on Ponce de Leon Avenue.

A group of Nashville and New York developers purchased the vacant property earlier this year to turn it into a boutique hotel.

The hotel first opened in the 1920s. While health inspectors closed it four years ago, the infamous Clermont Lounge downstairs has remained open.

There has been no word if the lounge will be part of the renovated property.
