ASU students move in to newly refurbished Manzanita Hall

Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. -

Despite the hot temperatures, thousands of students moved into their new home on the campus of Arizona State University.

For some, they will be the first occupants of the newly remodeled, iconic Manzanita Hall.

Thousands of students unloaded their belongings and moved into the ASU dorms.

Some students got settled into the newly renovated Manzanita Hall.

The old building was built back in the 60s and underwent a complete, two-year makeover.

"We worked to gut the entire building. It used to have 1,100 students that lived here and we actually changed the walls to make the rooms different so now we have 780 students," said Associate Dean Paul Lepore.

Students were excited to be the first batch of residents to live in the new Manzanita.
