BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. -

The Bartow County mother of an 8-month-old boy who was kidnapped, and only recently returned safely to her, must now appear in court Friday to regain full custody.

Soon after authorities reunited William Kaidyn with his mother, Kristen Stover, the Department of Family & Children Services took custody of the young boy. A friend of Ms. Stover's had kidnapped her son earlier this week; eventually setting off a statewide Levi's Call and search for William.

Henry County police caught up with 22-year-old Samantha Barrett after a high-speed chase on southbound I-75. The chase ended when Barrett crashed her car into a dirt embankment along an access road. She bolted from the car – leaving 8-month-old William behind – and was eventually tackled by police.

Barrett is being held without bond at the he Henry County Jail.
