A hotel in downtown Phoenix has Arizona's first commercial-use Urban Cultivator that grows a variety of herbs and micro greens to be served year-round. Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel installed an Urban Cultivator, which allows them to grow and harvest hard-to-find greens to serve at their District American Kitchen and Wine Bar. The six-and-a-half-foot tall cultivator is fully-automated, indoor and resembles a refrigerator with double glass doors, growing shelves, lighting and water spouts. The climate-controlled appliance uses a method similar to hydroponic growing and supports the company's sustainability goals.
