Javelinas storm the field at ASU's Sun Devil Stadium
TEMPE, Ariz. -
A pair of javelinas were seen running around Arizona State University's Sun Devil Stadium near Rural Road and Rio Salado Parkway Wednesday morning.
The animals may have gained access through a hole in a fence.
Authorities say the collared peccaries could have come from Papago Park or the nearby river bottom in search of food, so ASU officials called in an expert to remove them from the area.
Lone Wolf Wildlife was called to the scene. Take a look at the video -- you can see a worker on a golf cart trying to wrangle one of the animals. Crews were able to get a leash around its neck and lead it out of the stadium.
"Typically, they're very fast animals and can be very very mean.. fortunately for us today we were able to get them -- no problem, no injuries," said Lone Wolf's Joe DeWolf.
The javelinas were taken to the east valley and released back into the wild.
