ROSEVILLE, Minn. (KMSP) -

Ham Lake, Minn. man Paul White has officially announced he is the holder of a $149.47 million Powerball ticket.

A project engineer at Elliott Contracting in Minneapolis and father of two, White's girlfriend called him at work after she called him and told him a winner had been drawn in Minnesota. White knew he had the two tickets with the Powerball of 32, and after she urged him to check the ticket, he discovered he was a winner and brandished his fists in celebration at work.

He purchased the ticket in Ham Lake at a Holiday station store.

Before 11 a.m., White had reported to Lottery headquarters in Roseville, Minn. to claim his prize.

White is one of three winners selected in Wednesday night's drawing. After failing to draw a winner on Saturday, the jackpot grew to $448.4 million -- the third largest in Powerball history.

The other two winning tickets were sold in New Jersey, each worth $149.47 before taxes. The winning numbers drawn were: 5, 25, 30, 58, 59 and a Powerball of 32.

After a winner comes forward, he or she has 60 days to choose the annuity payment or cash option -- in this case, a choice of an annuity payment of $149.4 million or the cash option of $86 million -- $58.3 million after tax withholding. The annual payment of the 30-year annuity increases by 4 percent each year.

White is Minnesota's 22nd Powerball jackpot winner since Powerball launched in 1992. The biggest win in Minnesota came from a ticket sold Aug. 10, 2011 to a Burnsville couple who won $228.9 million. Ultimately, they chose a cash payout which was worth about $84 million after taxes.

The winners receive their first payment about two weeks after the ticket is redeemed at Lottery headquarters.
