Atlanta hosts College Football Hall of Fame event

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - The College Football Hall of Fame is planning to add 18 players and six coaches during a ceremony next month.

Organizers say the College Football Hall of Fame is gearing up to host its Aug. 28 enshrinement ceremony, which will be the first time the event is hosted in Atlanta as crews work to build a College Football Hall of Fame attraction near Centennial Olympic Park. The attraction is expected to open in fall of 2014.

The enshrinement ceremony is being hosted at the Omni Hotel and will also feature a dinner and a college football season preview with analysts from ESPN.

Officials say ticket sales close Aug. 21.
