There was a protest Friday against Montgomery County's support of same-sex marriage.
Demonstrators held what they called a "pray-in" at the county's Register of Wills Office amid word that 10 more were issued Friday, bringing the total for the week to 26.
The county this week began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, defying a state ban on gay marriage.
The protesters want Gov. Tom Corbett to invalidate the licenses issued and stop the county from issuing any more.
Meanwhile, a small group of pro-gay marriage protesters showed up, too.
"Because if they're pro-life and they want to foster families, you'd think they'd want to support gay marriage," said gay marriage supporter Mark Milbocker.
"We're here to make the case that civil government should recognize marriage as a union of one man and one woman because that is the institution to ensure that children are raised by a mother and a father," said Mike McMnagle, of the Montco Pro-Life Coalition.
Corbett says Montgomery County doesn't have the power to suspend state law in issuing the licenses.
In the wake of yesterday’s system, icy spots will be a concern for the region along with the bitter cold. Look for lows in the teens and 20S. Highs close to 30. West winds 5-10 mph with feels like temperatures in the teens. Bundle up and watch for icy patches on roads and sidewalks.
