OAKDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say three teenagers were seriously injured in a car crash on Long Island.
It occurred at 11:19 p.m. Tuesday in Oakdale.
Suffolk County police say James Conway was driving a Ford Mustang northbound on Locust Avenue when he crossed over into the southbound lane and struck a telephone pole.
Emergency crews had to extricate the 18-year-old driver and a rear passenger, 18-year-old Jessica Napolitano, from the car.
Another passenger, 17-year-old Conal Orgonas was ejected from the car. All three victims were taken to a hospital where they were listed in serious condition.
Police are investigating whether wet road conditions may have contributed to the crash. The car was impounded for a safety check.
