Doggy Con looks to raise funds for animal shelters

Doggy Con is a family oriented event for dog lovers during the day and a red carpet movie screening at night. It all happens at Motion Picture Institute in Troy, MI.

On Saturday July 27th, starting at 10 am, dog lovers and advocates of all ages are invited to three sound stages at Motion Picture Institute to participate in a FREE awareness event with ReJoyceful Animal

Rescue doing a dog adoption, demonstrations, guest speakers including Mid Michigan Therapy Dogs, pet suppliers, groomers, Michigan Humane Society, and vendors of all kinds. This free event is open to the public, and is family-oriented. There will be activities for kids, food, and dog friendly activities for

Man's Best Friend. This is an event for the whole family to truly enjoy the "dog days of summer" from 10am to 4pm. In the evening the mood turns to a more adult themed red-carpet fundraising screening of "The Dog Fighter; MMA's Animal Rights Hero".

This is an emotionally charged documentary where a retired MMA fighter spreads awareness to end the illegal dog fighting epidemic plaguing Detroit. Local

Celebrity's involved in animal awareness will be present, and a % of all proceeds will go to a local animal adoption center. Motion Picture Institute is collecting pet food and toys to donate during the event.

This will be a fun-filled day for the entire family, and spectacular evening for the adults, celebrating, raising awareness, and helping out man's best friend, they are always there for us-let's do something for them at Doggy Con 2013!

Food donations and toys for the dogs at ReJoyceful Animal rescue are being collected at Motion Picture Institute in Troy, and can be dropped off at 2040 Crooks Rd. Ste. B Troy, MI.
