What to do this weekend

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Webster Hall is the location of the New York City Craft Beer Festival, just one of many events in the tri-state area taking place this weekend. 150 beers from around the world will be served. The festival will feature jazz music. Tickets start at $55.

Now from beer to tomatoes. The tomato battle is hitting the Big Apple for the first time on Saturday. Brave battlers will hurl tomatoes at each other. There will also be a costume contest. It costs $50.

Over in Queens, a tamer event happening on Sunday is SummerStage Kids. Presented by Disney, the event will feature dance performances, storytelling, puppetry and acrobats, and a celebration of Michael Jackson. This is taking place in Queensbridge Park and is free for adults and children.

But if you're looking for a cooler option, the City of Water day may be your best bet on Saturday. It's a free daylong celebration of the water surrounding the tri-state area. It takes place on Governors Island, Liberty State Park in New Jersey, and 25 other waterfront sites.

The event will hold the first ever cardboard kayak race and free boat tours.

NYC woman finds wedding dress lost after Sandy

When a New York City dry cleaners was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy, the only item to survive was Nicole Pagliaro's wedding dress. But her name was lost to owner Hector Pacheco, who reopened after more than a year and in a new location. Pagliaro had brought the dress to him after her 2012 wedding. When the storm swamped and shuttered the Staten Island store, she assumed it was lost. But two weeks ago, she took a different route to work and spotted it in the window.
