Chris Brown's Probation Revoked

Posted: Updated:
Van Nuys, CA -

Chris Brown's probation is revoked. The singer was serving 5 years probation after pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna in 2009. But the L.A. County District Attorney filed a motion to have it revoked, after a traffic accident in May, from which Brown faces one charge of hit and run, another for driving without a license.

Although Judge James Brandlin revoked Brown's probation, the singer was not taken into custody. Brown is ordered back in court on August 16, at which time Judge Brandlin will determine if Brown violated his probation. He could be sentenced to 4 years in prison.

Meantime, Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos appeared in a Van Nuys courtroom earlier in the day defending his client on the charges stemming from the traffic accident in May when he rear-ended another driver, but allegedly failed to present the proper documentation. That case, in which he faces misdemeanor charges, has been continued to July 23rd.
