DETROIT (WJBK) -

More than 150 AAA Michigan employees spent Thursday morning fighting blight in Detroit's Brightmoor neighborhood.

The employees teamed up with Mid Point Construction and the Burt Block Club Association to board up and paint nearly 40 abandoned homes along a six-block stretch of Burt Road and remove debris from the yards and streets.

Other volunteers spent the morning handing out Red Cross Comfort kits to area residents.
