Up to 10 people were injured in a single-vehicle collision on westbound I-10 west of McCartney Road Monday night.
There are unconfirmed reports 10 people were ejected from the vehicle.
To accommodate the six helicopters which were needed to transport the injured to an area hospital, the westbound lanes were closed.
The extent of their injuries are unknown and no names have been released.
During the closure, drivers were able to take State Route 287 west to State Route 387 north to I-10 to avoid the crash. Traffic was getting by on the shoulder.
The freeway re-opened Tuesday morning.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time.
