Lauryn Hill Starts Prison Sentence

Posted: Updated:

Singer Lauryn Hill has begun serving a three-month sentence for tax evasion.

The New Jersey native was sentenced in May after admitting she intentionally failed to file tax returns for three years.

She's doing her time at a federal lockup in Danbury, Connecticut.

Hill is living in dorm-style quarters and has a prison job.

Once her three months are up, she'll spend another three months in home confinement.

Lauryn Hill is best remembered for being a member of The Fugees. She also released a solo album called "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill."
