The Little Lady Behind Cookies For A Cure

Posted: Updated:

Please meet Sienna.

She's making and selling chocolate chip cookies, to raise money.  "I want to help kids with cancer, and help them get out of the hospital so they can feel better." she told Fox 29's Claudia Gomez.

Sienna's fundraiser is happening at a shop called "Sweet Elizabeth's" on Main Street in Manayunk, with help from sweet Elizabeth herself.  They're selling the cookies for 65 cents a piece, with half the proceeds going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

So how did Sienna come up with the idea?  Or better yet, why?

It is all because of a woman she never met, her great-grandmother Marty Rossier.

Jacqueline Serra, Sienna's Aunt told Claudia "My grandmother passed away from leukemia, and my sister at the time was living with her, so she took it to heart."

Sienna's mom began raising money for charity, as her daughter looked on.  Then Sienna decided to try it herself.  The cookies flew off the tray Friday!

Elizabeth Paradiso, owner of Sweet Elizabeth, expects to bring in hundreds of dollars for the charity.    She was also very inspired by the little girl with the big heart!
