(WJBK) -

Poor Snuffy.

A new spot for Discovery Channel's Shark Week shows a mock news crew celebrating a rescued seal's return to the ocean. However, as Snuffy is lowered into the water on live TV, a giant shark goes "full breach" and snags the loveable seal for dinner.

A voiceover man follows the traumatic scene by saying, "Shark Week, it's a bad week to be a seal."

Watch the full spot above.

Shark Week begins Aug. 4.
