Two suspects kicked in the front door of a home near Northern and 19th Avenues and forced the 80-year-old homeowner to the ground, according to a Phoenix police report.

The suspects then allegedly covered the man with a blanket and tried to suffocate him.

A police report revealed the man was afraid he would be killed and pretended he was dead.

One of the suspects allegedly took a $20 bill out of the 80-year-old's pocket before they both left.

The man was reportedly bleeding heavily from his left wrist and had scratches on his jaw.

According to the police report, the 80-year-old identified the burglars as 21-year-old Nicholas Young and his brother. One of the brothers had been the man's caretaker and the other brother had been to the home several times.

The man told police the suspects had both robbed him in the past, but he didn't report it because he was afraid they would retaliate.

When questioned by police, the report stated Young admitted to knowing the 80-year-old and that he had attempted to steal and forge the man's checks in the past. He denied involvement in the home invasion.

Young faces charges of kidnapping/death/inj/sex/aid, second degree burglary, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault/serious physical injury.
