Students paint horses at Camp Vet

Updated:

Some east valley students got the chance to practice their art skills by painting on horses.

Tinkerbell, a former show horse, helped out with Camp Vet, a summer program sponsored by the Arizona Animal Welfare League.

Most of the children are planning to work with animals as a career, but painting a horse came as a surprise.

"It's probably the last thing I thought I would do here, but we learned the inside of a horse and the outside of the horse," said Courtney, a Cordova student.

"I thought it was really cool because instead of just looking at sheets of paper with drawings, we got to see it.. how it moves," said Clodagh Kelly.

And in case you were wondering, the students were using a non-toxic paint on the horses.
