Marietta company puts veterans back to work

Posted: Updated:
MARIETTA, Ga. -

As veterans leave the military, they sometimes have a hard time finding work in civilian life.  So, Bluestream Professional Services in Marietta is stepping up to train them and get them back to work.

The company will hold a hiring event exclusively for servicemen and women this month.  More than half of their current employees served in the armed services.  Now, they're looking for about 400 more veterans who are interested in a career in wireless technology.

New employees training at Bluestream Professional Services learn how to install 4G technology on cell phone towers.

Veteran coordinator Chuck West says as more and more veterans leave the military, it becomes harder for them to find work.  Part of that, West says, is trying to translate their military experiences into a civilian job.

That's why the company gives back by first offering the jobs to those who have served.

Bluestream has teamed up with the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency to hold the hiring event on Friday, June 14.  Veterans are asked to bring their military ID and DD 214 if they are interested in a job.
