VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK, Ariz. -

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is looking for 22-year-old Miguel Jerry Zepeda, who escaped from custody early Thursday morning.

Deputies first contacted Zepeda in Oak Creek. The deputy determined Zepeda was contributing to the delinquency of a minor, littering, and had provided him a false name and birth date.

He was handcuffed behind his back and seated outside the patrol vehicle while the deputy continued follow up. It was then Zepeda stood up and bolted, according to YSCO. The deputy gave chase, but was unable to catch him. Zepeda ran into the darkness. Deputies collected marijuana from his vehicle.

About an hour and a half later, deputies responded to the home of Zepeda's mother, but he was able to escape again. When he was last seen, he was wearing a red T-shirt, plaid shorts, tennis shoes, and stainless steel handcuffs. It was reported he got into a silver station wagon with an unknown female at a gas station in Oak Creek. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Zepeda has a tattoo on the left side of his neck and on his arm. His hair is cut in a buzz cut.

Zepeda faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, littering, taking the identity of another, escape, theft, aggravated assault, criminal damage, and possession of marijuana.
