GLENDALE, Ariz. -

One man was stabbed to death and another was beaten by a group at a park near 59th Avenue and Peoria late Wednesday night.

Glendale police say it started when two guys and their girlfriends had an argument with a second group of four guys at Saguaro Ranch Park.

The second group allegedly left the park, came back with more guys and beat up one of the other guys and stabbed another with a knife.

Both men were taken to a hospital, where the stabbing victim later died. He was later identified as Darrick Michael Hendrix Jr., 23. The other victim, Robert Edward Newman III, 23, suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Andrew Patrick Aschenbrenner was booked into the 4th Ave Jail on charges of second degree homicide. They believe he was the one who stabbed Hendrix.

Officers also brought in two juveniles and one adult for questioning about their possible involvement. They were released and charges of aggravated assault will be submitted to the county attorney's office.

One juvenile fled the scene and is still outstanding. Police still want to interview him about his alleged involvement.

The women told police they don't know the men who attacked their boyfriends.
