PHOENIX -

Phoenix Police have arrested a man in the 2012 death of his 24-year-old roommate. The victim's remains were found on July 28, 2012 after firefighters extinguished a brush fire near I-17 and Dixileta Road.

The body, later identified as Matthew McMasters, died from blunt force trauma. Police determined, through investigations and forensic analysis, that the trauma was caused by Vroury Manoukian.

Manoukian, 23, lived with the victim at a home near I-17 and Bethany Home Road. Police say Manoukian and another individual disposed of the victim's body and set it on fire in the desert.

On May 31, 2013, Manoukian was arrested and booked into jail on charges of second degree homicide.
