DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

In-depth reporting by the Druid Hills High School student newspaper on DeKalb's accreditation controversy landed the head of SACS as the school's commencement speaker on Friday.

Dr. Mark Elgart told graduates that integrity is demonstrated by aligning organization, a care and concern for others and their own values and beliefs.

Much of the focus at the Atlanta Civic Center was on this milestone for the class of 2013.

Valedictorian Anna Dowling will attend Pomona College in California.

New DeKalb Schools Superintendent Michael Thurmond promised graduates and their families that he would not allow the district to lose accreditation.
