ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WJBK) -

Ann Arbor's fascination with Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger is well documented.

"It's the best burgers in town. That's what makes it so special. Best burgers in town," said one customer.

So it was no surprise to see people lined up out the door at lunchtime on Friday.

"This is the place in Ann Arbor to come for a hamburger," said another patron.

But nothing is forever, including their location on South Division. Owner Richard Magner has been asked to find a new home.

"The university offered my landlady an amount of money she couldn't refuse," he said.

The university paid just over a million dollars for the Blimpy Burger location and a house next door. They plan to build a graduate residence hall in their place.

So you only have a few months to enjoy the old location. Magner and his wife have their eye on two new spots within walking distance, so at least it will still be in the neighborhood.

"It's been here for it was 60 years in March," Magner said.
