Candice Glover has won the Season 12 edition of "American Idol."

She edged out Kree Harrison for the title.

Candice is the first woman to win "Idol" since Jordin Sparks took the crown in Season 6 in 2007.

Glover, 23, of St. Helena Island, S.C., cites Christina Aguilera and Jazmine Sullivan as her musical influences.

Harrison, 22, of Woodville, Texas, calls Patsy Cline her favorite singer.

The winner gets a recording contract. Her album was already available for preorder, an "American Idol" first.

Glover closed the finale with a rendition of "I Am Beautiful," her new single.

Both Glover and Harrison will go on tour with nine other "Idol" contestants this summer.
