Hudson River search to resume for missing man

Posted: Updated:

HYDE PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities say they plan to resume the search for an upstate man now that a body found in the Hudson River earlier this week has been identified as his companion in a canoe that capsized last December.

Police in the Dutchess County town of Hyde Park tell the Poughkeepsie Journal that they'll work with the sheriff's office and state police to resume the search for 31-year-old Barrett Raymond.

The Hyde Park resident and 27-year-old Baylin Coddington of Millbrook disappeared after their canoe tipped over near the river's east bank early on the morning of Dec. 21.

Officials say Coddington's body was identified Wednesday, two days after being found along the shore in Hyde Park.

A third man in the canoe swam to shore and alerted police.
