Family and Friends Mark 1 Year Since Atlantic County Mom's Death

Posted: Updated:

More than 100 family members and friends of murdered Atlantic County radio personality April Kauffman came out to honor her memory and rally for justice exactly one year after her death.

The group gathered along a bike trail behind Mainland Regional High School to share stories, pray and demand her killer be brought to justice.

Her daughter Kimberly Pack arrived to a crowd overflowing with love for mom.

"All I have to say is wow," she said, standing before the group visibly moved.

"A year later we stand here, same place I was a year ago," she said."  My life hasn't moved on."

Dozens of veterans also showed up on motorcycles as a tribute to her work with veterans.

One by one, various speakers shared their memories of Kauffman.  The 47-year-old was found dead in her home last May after being shot several times.

No one has been arrested in the crime, but friends and family members aren't giving up hope. They announced the formation of a justice fund in April Kauffman's name with several thousand dollars already pledged.

Attendees said they have faith in the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office to bring in a suspect before another year passes, however most raised their hands when asked by of Kauffman's friends if they think they know who did it.
